The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is a free, convenient, reliable, and quick way to get around in Downtown Detroit. The elevated and automated light rail operates on a 3-mile loop, offering the best views of the city and stops near all Detroit attractions, including the riverfront, the stadiums, concert venues, and works of art. DPM is great for tourists, commuters, residents, and families coming to downtown Detroit for entertainment or work.

How to Ride
DPM stations are located conveniently throughout downtown. During service hours, enter, go through the turnstiles, reach the boarding level, and wait for the next train. Each station is equipped with helpful digital screens that provide more information on the People Mover, nearby destinations, and directions. No fare is required!
The DPM is served by the Transit Police. Stations are monitored at all times of day through video. The rules for quality, safe, and timely transit are available in the DPM Safety Rules.

The DPM connects with other transit options in Detroit along its 3-mile elevated system. The 13 stations connect with the QLINE streetcar, DDOT, D2A2, DAX, and SMART buses and MoGo bikeshare. The QLINE has no cost to connect, as it is free, and transfers can be made at Grand Circus Park, Times Square, and Financial District stations.
