Station Art Campaign Launches as Holiday Season Kicks Off

The QLINE reached the one million riders milestone over the weekend, surpassing its 2023 total ridership. Bolstered by more regular riders, improved service, and the record breaking three-day NFL Draft, ridership on the QLINE continues to grow. Transitioned under the management of the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan in October, the QLINE is poised to build upon its success.

“Thank you to our riders and staff for making 2024 the QLINE’s best year yet,” said RTA Executive Director Ben Stupka. “The QLINE continues to demonstrate the positive impact our communities experience when we invest in transit. With the holiday season upon us, there’s never been a better time to hop on board the QLINE and experience all that Greater Downtown has to offer.”

Riders are enjoying newly installed art at the QLINE’s twelve stations, with a colorful campaign to welcome riders and promote experiences along the QLINE’s route. Designed by Zoyes Creative and made possible by a grant from the Rocket Community Fund, the station art campaign features seven original design concepts with the tagline, “Every Stop is a Start”. The Dots represent the variety of destinations to explore along the Woodward corridor, reflecting the fun and joy that the QLINE offers its passengers.

Detroit’s official holiday festivities will kick off with the Tree Lighting at Campus Martius Park on Friday, November 22. The QLINE will operate park-and-ride services in partnership with Wayne State University’s Lot 12, which offers $5 parking next to the QLINE’s Amsterdam station. In support of the event, the QLINE is running a short route to the Campus Martius Park stop through Sunday afternoon.

The QLINE is a 6.6-mile circulating streetcar route serving Woodward Avenue from Congress St. in Downtown Detroit through Midtown to Grand Boulevard in New Center and North End. The QLINE’s climate-controlled, wi-fi-enabled cars are the most convenient and comfortable way to experience the Woodward Corridor. It operates free of charge from 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday-Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., with streetcars arriving every 15 minutes or less.
