May 15, 2025

Special Late-Night Service Available Saturday, Jan. 18, from Downtown Detroit to Ann Arbor

The Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) is excited to announce a special edition of its popular Midnight Run late-night service for its D2A2 route on Saturday, January 18, to accommodate fans attending the Detroit Lions playoff game against the Washington Commanders, which kicks off at 8 p.m.

D2A2 will travel between Ann Arbor and Detroit all day, starting at 7:45 a.m. Riders will be picked up in Downtown Ann Arbor at the Blake Center – 331 South 4th Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48104 – and dropped off in Downtown Detroit – at 1508 Park Avenue in Grand Circus Park – from where they are a short walk away to Ford Field. To ensure that attendees can get to the game at Ford Field and back to Ann Arbor without the hassle of parking or traffic, D2A2 will extend its regular hours —departing Downtown Detroit for Ann Arbor at 11:55 p.m.

“It’s an exciting time to be a Lions fan,” said Ben Stupka, Executive Director of the RTA. “By extending D2A2’s hours on Saturday, we’re making it easier for people to travel from all over the region and experience the Lions’ thrilling 2025 playoff run. We remain committed to meeting the region’s transportation needs and providing convenient travel options to enjoy the game all while leaving the stress of driving and parking behind.”

D2A2 passengers can relax and stay for the entire game, knowing they won’t miss their bus back home. Buses have modern amenities, including comfortable seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, and charging ports. D2A2 has seen significant growth since launching in 2020. Nearly 10,000 rides were recorded in October 2024, setting a new service record. Michigan Flyer operates the coaches.

Tickets are on sale now at d2a2.com. Customers should select the 11:55 p.m. departure time for the late-night service when booking. One-way fares are $8 at the door or $6 with an advance online booking discount. Riders are strongly encouraged to reserve their seat in advance to ensure there is space on board. Discounts are also available for seniors, people with disabilities, and those purchasing a book of 10 or more tickets.
