Master Plan
The Regional Transit Master Plan (RTMP) is a vital guide for the agency, providing a realistic roadmap and unified vision for transit progress in Southeast Michigan. See annual updates alongside plan highlights:
The RTMP is the foundation for all of the agency’s pilots and programs. Learn more about those below.
Mobility 4 All
Transportation is a gateway to opportunity. The Mobility 4 All (M4A) program is a regional initiative to improve transit, focusing on people with disabilities, older adults, and individuals with limited incomes. This program aims to ensure that everyone has access to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation services to get where they need to go in the four-county region.
M4A Grants
M4A grants support initiatives focused on enhancing or expanding transportation services and access for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Public transportation providers, government entities, and non-profit organizations apply for funding from the RTA. Projects must fit within application requirements. Funding is distributed through a competitive grant process.

Corridors
Southeast Michigan is defined by the strong lines and recognizable names of our major corridors: Woodward, Michigan, Gratiot, Grand River, Washtenaw and so many others. Learn about the corridors and RTA’s vision for the future of our streets:

Policy & Research
The RTA’s policy vision is the product of research led and managed by the RTA over the course of a decade. Reports like the Detroit Workforce Mobility Report and Mobility Oriented Development Study are available on this page:

Access to Transit
Your experience riding transit doesn’t begin when you step on board. RTA’s Access to Transit program improves stop infrastructure and creates mobility hubs for high-usage transit stops and areas of need.

Mobility Wallet
The RTA mobility wallet pilot is an in-progress experiment with payment-integration technology to improve personal mobility and access in our community.
