Equal Employment Opportunity
The RTA has a strong commitment to our region, residents, and employees. As an equal opportunity employer, we strive for a workforce that reflects the community we serve. No person is unlawfully excluded from employment opportunities based on race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation, and pregnancy), age, genetic information, disability, veteran status, retaliation, or other protected classes. RTA’s EEO policy applies to all employment actions, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, selection for training, promotion, transfer, demotion, layoff, termination, rates of pay, or other forms of compensation.
EEO PolicyIf an employee or applicant believes they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment on the basis of any of the protected classifications listed above and wishes to file a complaint, they can do so by emailing concerns to EEO@rtamichigan.org, 248-809-0351 and 1001 Woodward Avenue, #1400, Detroit, Michigan, 48226. RTA will promptly initiate a thorough and impartial inquiry. If it is determined that a violation of this Policy has occurred, RTA will take immediate action to remedy the concerns and implement corrective measures as deemed necessary/applicable.
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
RTA established a DBE program according to USDOT DBE regulations. The RTA intends to create a level playing field and remove barriers for participation in RTA’s contracts and all subcontracts at every tier.

The RTA is committed to providing reasonable accommodations and modifications, as defined under applicable federal and state laws and regulations, for persons with disabilities. This commitment is part of RTA’s ongoing effort to ensure access to programs, services, and activities, and to assist in meeting program eligibility criteria and testing.
The ADA Policies and Procedures document helps clarify RTA’s legal application of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
